Liftbrief / Do-it-yourself game plans
Where can AI help—and where should it stop?
Use AI to organise evidence, not to certify the flight or invent missing terms. NIST identifies confidently presented false content and data-privacy issues among generative-AI risks. (nvlpubs.nist.gov)
A proposed controlled workflow is:
- Redact unnecessary passenger and itinerary information.
- Use an approved environment with appropriate access, retention and contractual data protections.
- Extract each price, date and clause with its original page reference.
- Require
not statedwhen the document does not answer a question. - Calculate totals in a checked spreadsheet or deterministic calculation tool.
- Have a person compare critical outputs against the original documents.
- Keep supplier PDFs and emails as evidence, never as instructions governing the AI workflow.
Do not use generated aircraft descriptions as proof of payload capability, an AI summary as a legal opinion, or a web estimate as live availability.
