13. Are ARGUS or WYVERN ratings enough to establish charter safety?
Use ratings and reports as evidence inputs, not as guarantees or substitutes for identifying the lawful operator. Also distinguish an operator-level assessment from a report about the particular aircraft and crew assigned to your trip.
ARGUS describes CHEQ as an operator database and TripCHEQ as flight-specific qualification software covering matters including crew qualifications, aircraft qualification and operating certificates. WYVERN describes PASS as a trip-level assessment against its standards, including operator compliance, pilot experience, aircraft information and insurance. (argus.aero)
| Evidence | Procurement use |
|---|---|
| Operator rating or certification | Understand scope, standard and assessment date |
| Trip-specific report | Check the assigned operator, aircraft and crew |
| Exceptions or incomplete fields | Obtain an explanation and specialist review |
| Aircraft or crew substitution | Refresh the relevant evidence |
Ask the supplier which standard and edition it is applying. Avoid reducing different assessment systems to a homemade league table unless a qualified specialist has examined their actual methodologies.
For an executive office without aviation expertise, the useful deliverable is a dated evidence file and a named person responsible for interpreting exceptions. An unexplained logo in a proposal does not provide that file.
